These are a few things for running I can’t do without!

Whenever I start something new, I research it and read about it to death! When I first started my running journey in early 2015, I jumped in deep to find out as much about it as I could.
I’m constantly updating links on my Pinterest Running Motivation and Running Gear boards, but thought I’d share a few of my favorites here.
Running Podcasts, Books, and Websites
Dizruns
Denny Krahe hosts a great podcast which has the theme of “Every Runner Has a Story,” along with offering coaching services and oodles of other resources.
Another Mother Runner
Moms who are also runners host a podcast, offer several books and resources galore.
Jeff Galloway
Pioneer of the run-walk method, Jeff is a former Olympian runner and longtime expert.
Real Runners Chat
A newer podcast, Liz talks to runners from all walks of life, not just elite athletes, hence the name “real.” (Note: I was recently a guest on this program!)
My Year of Running Dangerously
A new favorite! Tom Foreman is a journalist for CNN, and in this well-written and humorous book, he talks about signing up for a marathon with his daughter and then his foray into ultra running.
Running Like a Girl: Notes on Learning to Run
Another writer turned into runner (seeing a theme here), I love Alexandra Heminsley’s humorous, real-life style of writing. Her stories of embarrassment of running in public, overdoing it, and so many other true-to-life tales. Highly recommend for anyone just starting out! Hilarious.
Run Like a Mother
From the ladies at Another Mother Runner (above). While some of it’s definitely geared towards the stroller set, still lots of good info and stories from real mother runners.
Running Gear
I have not been paid by these companies to promote their products; they are tried and true items that this middle-aged, slow, prone to Achilles tendinitis and plantar fasciitis runner have found to work!
(Does contain some affiliate links, however, which means I’ll get a few pennies if you click and order from these links!)
Enell Sports Bras
These aren’t pretty, but they’ll keep everything in place. You big-chested gals know what I mean.
Brooks Transcend Shoes
If you’re looking for a good stability shoe, I can’t recommend these enough. A little pricey, but oh-so-comfy!
Hydration Belt
I call this my “water holster.” A must for longer runs or runs in the heat. Also includes a handy pocket for your ID or a few gels or keys.
Compression Shorts
I prefer these over the looser shorts to cut down on chafing and to just feel more, uh,contained. To each his or her own, but if you don’t want to be constantly pulling at your shorts, get these!
Ok, fellow runners, what are YOUR running items you just can’t do without?
